I have always loved animals. Maybe, it’s the fact that sometimes people don’t understand my loud outspoken nature and animals give me that non judgmental unconditional love you always hear about.
Horses especially, have an immense impact in my life. Perhaps it’s the thrill of riding something “wild” & “untamed” while having an unbreakable partnership that makes you forget all about the outside world, even if it’s just an hour out of the day. Where all addicted to something that takes away the pain, but unlike many teenagers I know, It’s not the alcohol, drugs or sex that helps me... but horses.
Currently I am almost finishing off school (grade 11) and completing my cert III in companion animals, in the hopes that one day (a few uni bridge courses will be required before ) I will be able to fulfil my dream of becoming a veterinarian.
Anyways, back on track. I have only been introduced to “proper riding” ( I had only done trail/paddock hooning around before) in the last couple of years by my instructor, and over that time I have come to understand and truly appreciate the fine art of dressage. Knowing that it doesnt matter what discipline want to succeed in, every horse needs good ground work, flatwork, dressage or what ever you want to call it.
I am very blessed to have had the opportunity of owning one of these magnificent animals, and hope to ride my way up to the serious competitive showjumping/dressage circuit....
